Breakthrough New York’s Board of Directors- David Geithner
David Geithner is a senior finance executive who draws upon nearly three decades of experience to serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, IMG Events and On Location. A subsidiary of Endeavor, this newly combined business unit will provide premium events and experiences. Previously David Geithner served as EVP, Strategy and Business Development, for On Location, and as Chief Financial Officer at ReactiveCore, a New York-based healthcare technology company. Breakthrough New York welcomed David Geithner to its Board of Directors in 2022.
Before joining ReactiveCore, David Geithner served five years as CFO of Condé Nast, a global media company comprising Vogue and Vanity Fair, among other prominent print, digital, video, and social media brands. Mr. Geithner managed all fiscal responsibilities for Condé Nast, which had more than 3,000 employees and revenue exceeding $1 billion under his direction. Among other accomplishments, video and web revenue grew 15 percent per year to exceed $400 million. Moreover, digital revenue increased from 13 percent to 30 percent of total revenue in his five years as CFO. In addition to financial oversight, David Geithner was highly involved in strategic planning and financial restructuring activities.
Before joining Condé Nast, Mr. Geithner garnered extensive financial leadership experience through various roles at Time, Inc. He last served the worldwide mass media corporation as executive vice president (EVP) and was tasked with oversight of advertising, consumer revenue, strategy, finance, and business development across all platforms. People, one of Time's publications, was named to Adweek’s Hot List twice during David Geithner's tenure as EVP, while People.com earned Best of the Web distinction for social media. Mr. Geithner's prior positions at Time included senior vice president of finance, acting CFO, general manager of People Group, and edit finance manager for People and InStyle magazines. He joined the corporation as an advertising revenue analyst in 1992. Complementing his experience, he was nominated by the CEOs of both Time and Condé Nast to serve on the MPA Board of Directors and is also a former David Rockefeller Fellow.
Outside of his career, Mr. Geithner is also a board member of Breakthrough NY, a nonprofit organization that supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds in New York City.
